Common Area Stewardship Committee (CASC) Seeks Volunteer Native Plant Aficionado for small project
Posted on Apr 28th, 2017

Are you an amateur botanist familiar with our Hartstene Pointe forest vegetation or would you like to increase your knowledge while doing some light field work?  You probably already know that HPMA has a nature trail with interpretive signs identifying some of our key forest tree and shrub species.  It is accessed from Pointes Drive West. These signs were developed by Pointe volunteers many years ago and in some cases the signs have outlived the plants that they originally identified.   We need a plant-lover to walk the trail, check the match between signs and adjacent vegetation, and make recommendations for 1) removing obsolete signs, 2) moving signs to coincide with current plant locations, 3) and/or adding new signs to point out key or interesting native plants.
If you would like to volunteer for this task, please contact David Hartley via email at or by phone at 206-941-0550.
This position will be open until filled or June 30th, 2017, whichever occurs first.
